Weekend of medals for BePink – GOLD

A weekend full of satisfactions that is about to end, characterized by boiling temperatures that did not stop our athletes!

After the second place on Saturday in the Italian Team Time Trial Championship, which saw the quartet of Zanardi, Vittillo, Vettorello and Casagranda as protagonists, covering the 33.2 km scheduled in 48’05”, the celebrations continued today thanks to Silvia Zanardi’s victory in the San Gabriel Gold Race – 2nd Renzo Tonon Trophy.

The Piacenza born in 2000 left its mark on the race by regulating the sprint of the small group that went to play for the success on the white line of Levada in Ponte di Piave (TV).

The Treviso Open circuit race of 94.7 km in total was decided, therefore, with the extension of a squad strong of about ten units (in which Giorgia Vettorello was also present for BePink – GOLD) which dropped to just over four laps from the end.

A poker of victories

The limited sprint saw Silvia Zanardi raise her arms to the sky and celebrate her fourth personal pearl of 2023, taking over the baton from Matilde Vitillo, who had celebrated at the same finish line in 2022.
Vettorello’s performance was also good, finishing ninth.

Liberation GP, 24th Pink Day in Friuli, more recently the 6th Antonietto Rancilio Ladies Trophy and today the success in the Treviso challenge.

“I’m really happy” said Silvia Zanardi “Giorgia started the escape and I then returned with another athlete. We were a nice little group and we managed to find the right agreement to get to the white line. In at the end I encouraged Giorgia to try, but when we realized that we would get to the sprint, she was very good at ‘launching’ me. With 150 meters to go I took off and managed to win! I thank her and the whole team! Now I will focus on the next objectives of the year and, above all, on the Track World Championships!”
