The first podium of the season for BePink-Bongioanni has arrived on the streets of Liguria and, after three days of competition always characterized by good results, in the last stage of the 3rd Trofeo Ponente in Rosa it was able to celebrate the beautiful third position of Ana Vitória Magalhães, who with this “bronze medal” further enhanced the excellent work of the entire team.
The excellent placing achieved by the Brazilian National Champion on the white farewell line of Diano Marina (IM), reached after 88.3 km from the start of Marina di Aregai (IM), adds, in fact, to the fourth position of Monica Trinca Colonel in general classification (best of the Italians) and the conquest of the White Jersey for Best Young Rider by Elisa Valtulini, eighth in the final ranking.
Monica Trinca Colonel, ninth on arrival yesterday, came close to finishing in the top three overall thanks to excellent performances both in the prologue time trial (finishing in 13th place) and in the following two road courses, where she achieved an encore of fourth places. The twenty-four year old from Grosotto (SO) was also awarded, in the first stage, as the most aggressive athlete.
The performance of the nineteen-year-old Elisa Valtulini from Bergamo was also incisive, doing well in wearing the symbol of the primacy of her category at the end of the second stage (the most demanding from an altimetric point of view, with Monte Pagliassa, Passo del Ginestro, Colle San Bartolomeo and Capo Berta), where she entered the decisive gateaway together with Trinca Colonel, going on to cross the goal line in fifth place.
“We are really very satisfied!” Said Team Manager Walter Zini. “We were confident we could do well and we managed to achieve some great satisfaction! Tota had a splendid race, interpreting the fast finish well. Monica was a certainty: always at the front, always good at managing herself and putting in excellent results. Elisa was also exceptional.
