Two races on Italian roads for BePink-Bongioanni
Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa and GP della Liberazione are the next appointments
BePink-Bongioanni returns to racing in Italy, in a double appointment on the streets of the Bel Paese. From tomorrow to 23 April the Lombard team will be competing in the Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa, a 2.2 UCI category test in five stages, drawn between Campania and Puglia, which will start from Frattamaggiore (NA) and will end on the finishing line of Motta Montecorvino ( FG).
The BePink-Bongioanni selection that will line up at the start is made up of Elisa Valtulini, Irene Cagnazzo, Carmela Cipriani, Prisca Savi, Cybèle Schneider and Martina Testa.
In this challenge, in 2023, both Valtulini and Cipriani had achieved good results. The girl from Bergamo born in 2004 had, in fact, placed third in the special ranking of young people and ninth in the general one; the Pescara born in 1996, on the third step of the podium in the second stage, had finished with a fifth place overall.
On Thursday 25 April the same sextet, to which Vitoria Grassi will be added, will be in Rome for the GP della Liberazione (1.1 UCI).
The traditional spring classic hosted by the Eternal City will always have as its theater the historic circuit of the Baths of Caracalla (16 laps, for a total of 96 km) where the then standard bearer Zanardi triumphed last season; Carmela Cipriani had come close to medals, finishing fourth.
