Giro Donne ’23, the Italian stage race starts today

The BePink – GOLD racing season continues with one of the most prestigious and anticipated events on the calendar: the Giro d’Italia Women (2.WWT).
The women’s Corsa Rosa will start today from Tuscany with the individual time trial and will end in Sardinia on 9 July, at the end of 9 stages and 930 kilometers in total.
The BePink – GOLD selection is made up of Zanardi, Vitillo, Basilico, Casagranda, Vettorello, Savi and the new entry Karasiewicz.

THE ROUTE OF THE GIRO D’ITALIA WOMEN

The 2023 edition therefore opens with a completely flat individual time trial.
After another Tuscan fraction the caravan will move to Emilia-Romagna and Modena, where it will encounter a route suitable, on paper, for fast wheels.
The fourth stage (the longest this year) will offer an “appetizer” of climbs and will be a prelude to the Piedmontese asperities and the arrival at Canelli (AT) (6th stage).
After the eventful Ligurian route (and the day of rest), we will leave the mainland to rediscover Sardinia (already the starting point in 2022) and the last two “efforts”, which will lead to the farewell finish line in Olbia (SS).

“The Giro d’Italia Women is always a very heartfelt, very prestigious event. Our objective will be to try to hunt for good results and to stand out. The route presents very interesting routes and is also open to different solutions. We are certain that our girls will give their all to do well” declares Team Manager Walter Zini.
