BePink-Bongioanni at La Vuelta Femenina

The first Grand Tour of 2024 will kick off on April 28th with the team time trial in Valencia.

After recent Italian events, BePink-Bongioanni returns to compete abroad and gears up for one of the most important challenges on the calendar, La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es.

The Spanish race, a 2.WWT UCI category event and the first Grand Tour of the season, will start on Sunday, April 28th from Valencia and conclude on Sunday, May 5th in the Comunidad de Madrid after eight stages.

Opening the festivities in the capital of the Valencian Community will be a 16 km team time trial, followed by undulating terrain from Buñol to Moncofa. The peloton will then bid farewell to the sea and begin encountering mountains as early as the third stage in Lucena – Teruel, a prelude to the fast-paced route between Molina de Aragón and Zaragoza.

The climbs will be significant, especially in Huesca – Jaca (featuring the finish line atop Alto del Fuerte de Rapitán) and, most notably, in Tarazona – La Laguna Negra (Vinuesa), an iconic high-altitude finish likely to play a crucial role in the general classification once again.

After leaving behind San Esteban de Gormaz – Sigüenza, the grand finale will unfold in Madrid: the checkered flag will wave in the Telefónica District at Las Tablas, a neighborhood of the capital; then, the route will head towards Valdesquí, a ski resort in the Sierra de Guadarrama at 1860 meters above sea level, where the athletes will find the uphill finish line awaiting them, marking the conclusion of this edition.

The BePink-Bongioanni lineup for the race includes Monica Trinca Colonel, Selene Colombi, Ana Vitória Magalhães, Nora Jenčušová, Andrea Casagranda, Beatrice Pozzobon, and Angela Oro.

The Lombard team arrives in Spain on the heels of good results collected at home, including Elisa Valtuni’s sixth-place finish on April 25th in the GP della Liberazione (1.1 UCI) in Rome.
