BePink-Bongioanni opens the month of July in their homeland and prepares to experience one of the most anticipated and prestigious challenges of the season, the Giro d’Italia Women (2.WWT).

At the Corsa Rosa Femminile, scheduled from 7 to 14 July, the team will field a selection composed of Monica Trinca Colonel, Elisa Valtulini, Ana Vitória Magalhães, Nora Jenčušová, Andrea Casagranda, Angela Oro and Carmela Cipriani.

THE ROUTE – Eight days of racing, 876.7 km in total, 11,950 meters of elevation gain. The Giro d’Italia Women will start from Lombardy and Brescia, which will host the “Grande Partenza” of this edition and stage number one: a 15.7 km individual time trial drawn along the streets of the city “Leonessa d’Italia”. The second stage, the “easiest” in terms of altitude of 2024, will accompany the caravan from Lake Garda and Sirmione (BS) to Volta Mantovana (MN) along a route suitable for sprinters.

The third stage, from Sabbioneta (MN) to Toano (RE), will offer a completely flat initial part and the first upward finish of this year, with the finish line that will be reached at the end of a 12.2 km climb (average gradient of 4.6%). The fourth stage will also start from Emilia and Imola (BO); after crossing San Marino (GPM) it will cross the border into the Marche, where the roughness of Monte Osteriaccia will be the prelude to the landing in Urbino (PU).

On the fifth day, it will be possible to “catch your breath” in the Frontone (PU) – Foligno (PG), before the “very nervous” sixth stage from San Benedetto del Tronto (AP) to Chieti. The seventh will be the queen stage: a white line on the Blockhaus (“Cima Alfonsina Strada”, equivalent to the “Cima Coppi”, with its 1664 meters of altitude and “legendary” climb of the Apennines) and a first passage on the Passo Lanciano (km 73) as a prelude to the final climb. The farewell route will lead from Pescara to the final finish line in L’Aquila (passing through the GPMs of Forca di Penne and Castel del Monte).

“This year’s route will be very demanding,” said Team Manager Walter Zini. “Apart from a couple of ‘quieter’ sections, the mountains and the altimetric difficulties will be constant traveling companions. Also considering the very high level of participation, it will certainly be a ‘tough’ challenge, but we are ready to live it to the fullest! We are presenting ourselves at the start with a young and determined team. We have athletes who can do well on climbs, others suited to breakaways. We are optimistic and, as always, we will give one hundred percent to stand out and go hunting for some good results.”

PARABIAGO NIGHT RACE – Friday 5 July BePink-Bongioanni will be at the starting line of the 7th Antonietto Rancilio Ladies Trophy with Vittoria Grassi, Martina Testa, Irene Cagnazzo, Beatrice Pozzobon and Prisca Savi.

The traditional night race in Parabiago (MI) on a circuit will measure 100 km.
